Ed Zahn Staff Scholarship

Ed Zahn first experienced the magic of Samoset camping when he attended Camp Tesomas as a cub scout in 1939. Since that time, Ed served on staff throughout the 1940’s, as camp director in the 1950’s and returned year after year as a volunteer and mentor to the staff through 2010. Ed’s passion and dedication to the scouting ideals was displayed time and time again as he performed countless acts of selfless service and good turns. This scholarship is named after Ed Zahn as a benchmark for its recipients to strive for.

While there is no guarantee of an award, the SCAA’s goal is to provide financial assistance to those staff members that are struggling to afford post-secondary education while still wanting to return to work at camp for as long as possible.  The scholarships are funded by camp alumni who understand that the number one resource for a successful camping program is a dedicated and experienced camp staff.
